Opening the first issue

Our first issue begins with a red chair. From black and white clothes and a red bag, we move outside to a street and a window, with objects for listening along the way. The final feature brings a book and a seat on the floor beside a sofa. How does a scene change with an outfit, an object, or a different pose? Take your time with these three stories, and open the production notes for the images that stay with you.

A moment against the wall

A shoulder rests against the corner of a wall, one hand in a pocket. A red bag hangs beside the long line of black trousers.

One more look2D

One more look

Her gaze turns toward the painting. Between the pattern on her cardigan and the brushstrokes on the wall, a red bag leaves a small interval.

On the red chair

On the red chair2D

The bag settles onto her lap. A hand supports her cheek; light falls on the chair; loafers meet the floor. This is the scene we want to linger in.

ANOTHER EXPRESSION04

The same scene, another texture

The pose and palette are translated into a photographic texture. Skin, hair, and fabric take on different surfaces. An experiment in changing the expression while keeping the scene.

STYLE NOTES

A place for red in black and white

An editorial reading

The cardigan's pattern scatters fine lines across the image; black trousers give them a long, quiet foundation. The red bag moves from hip to lap. Red remains in the chairs and paintings too, loosely connecting three changing poses.

The palette recorded in the prompts is black, ivory, and vivid red. The outfit stays while posture, gaze, and position in the space change. The sculptural chair in the first scene differs from the slatted chair in the seated image. We follow the recurrence of red rather than treating them as the same product.

Places for listening

A white cord on a walk, silver cups while waiting, a dial within reach at home. Objects for listening find their place between clothes and gestures.

01 / WALK

A walk beside a blue wall. A white earphone cord falls against a black cardigan; her gaze leads beyond the frame.

02 / WINDOW

At the window, a hand rests beneath her cheek. A phone, a small cup, and the blue window frame draw the scene closer.

03 / WAIT
A quiet platform2D

An orange platform bench. Silver headphones, a dark jacket, and trainers set side by side form a waiting pose.

One turn of the dialPHOTOREAL

The final frame brings us to the fingertips. Between a green knit and a cream speaker, a hand rests on the dial.

From a street to a window, through a platform and into a room. Separate works arranged for this issue, rather than a record of one actual day.

Bringing four images together

The original 2D prompts specify full-body framing, clothes, and light, alongside continuous earphone cables and naturally scaled props. The instructions attend to the balance of the whole scene.

The photographic window image uses a 2D scene and the approved red-chair face as distinct references. The speaker image is a revision: its edit prompt asks for gently lifted shadow midtones on the face and exposed hands. We selected the file linked to the publication record, rather than the first result.

The order and scene commentary were written for this edition. The recorded generation tool is built-in image_gen; the model version was not exposed.

Original prompts remain in English. Reusing them does not guarantee an identical result.

01 · EarPods / 2D
Use case: illustration-story. Create ONE vertical 2:3 high-quality 2D anime fashion editorial image, not a collage. Reference image is ONLY RURI identity and linework, NOT outfit, pose, room or framing. Preserve SAME adult RURI delicate grey eyes, long straight black hair, blunt bangs, fine braids, white cross hairpins, refined small nose/mouth, naturally narrow sloping shoulders and natural adult proportions. Pure drawn anime face/body AND painterly animated environment, elegant fine linework, tactile painted fabric, sophisticated limited color palette. RURI walking left to right past a cobalt blue painted wall in warm afternoon sun, head upright in clear side profile looking ahead. Black fine-knit cardigan, ivory wide trousers, black loafers. Small white Apple EarPods in ears, NO silicone tips, white cables naturally descending over black cardigan into a single cable connected to smartphone in her lowered hand. Correct cable continuity. Spacious composition with feet visible, no giant props.
02 · EarPods / Photoreal
Image 1 is the TARGET composition/wardrobe/props reference. Image 2 is the PRIMARY APPROVED fictional adult RURI PHOTOREAL FACE identity, not its clothing or pose. Produce ONE vertical photoreal image. Preserve the exact same adult woman as image2: grey eyes at realistic human size, delicate nose and natural lips, natural skin texture, long black hair/blunt bangs/thin braids/white crossed hairpins, narrow softly sloping shoulders and believable adult body. NO anime eyes, illustration outlines, doll, CGI or beauty filter. Do NOT transfer image2 zebra knit, red bag, red chair or hand-on-cheek pose unless already in target. Transform image1 into a sophisticated real cinematic fashion photograph. Preserve target framing, camera angle, pose, expression, head direction, every wardrobe item, bag, shoes, audio object, background geometry and lighting/mood. Real-world fabric, skin, leather, metal, architecture. Products plausible in size and contact; sound prop shape from target. Keep feet visible when visible originally. Preserve accessories but realistic detail. No text overlay or watermark. Faithful photographic reinterpretation of this exact scene, not a new scene.

04 · Marshall / Published tone revision
Use case: lighting-weather. Image1 is the edit target, an approved realistic photograph of fictional adult RURI. Image2 is ONLY a reference for clear luminous skin midtones, NOT identity, pose, clothing or background changes. Make a VERY SUBTLE localized photographic lighting/color correction to image1: a little soft reflected fill on the face, neck and exposed hands, slightly lifting muddy shadow midtones (approximately one quarter stop; less where already bright), gently reducing grey-brown cast without bleaching skin. Preserve realistic pores, natural skin color variation, facial depth, cast shadows and existing directional light. Preserve EXACT face identity, facial features, eye sizes, expression, gaze, hairstyle, head angle, body, pose, clothes, objects, composition, background, scene exposure, color mood. No facial reconstruction, beauty smoothing, new makeup, whitening, illustration or relighting entire scene. Keep bright sunlit skin highlights unchanged. Result should still have the same believable sunlight/backlight; only a slightly clearer, less murky complexion. Output the full original vertical composition.

A little closer to the floor

On the sofa, and sometimes below it. Togo, seen through one book and two poses.

On the sofa2D

In the first image, window light and plants share the room with Ruri, a book, and a deeply creased sofa. In the second, she settles on the floor. The cardigan, jeans, and book connect the images. As the sofa becomes a backrest, the relationship between figure and furniture changes.

Ligne Roset describes Michel Ducaroy’s Togo in terms of its multi-density foam construction and quilted covers. Here, we look at its low silhouette and repeating folds. The generated proportions and creases may differ from the product; these images are interpretations, not technical drawings or product photographs.

Knitted yarn, quilted folds, the texture of a rug. Surfaces that come closer as the pose moves down.

The same clothes, a different pose

After the initial room image, an additional pose prompt requested sitting on the floor against the front of the sofa, in right profile. An identity reference and the earlier sofa image were used together to carry over the character, clothes, and furniture.

For this spread, we paired two of the four published images: the room view and the floor pose. The selection makes the continuities and changes visible. The recorded tool is built-in image_gen; no model version is available.

Original prompts remain in English. Reusing them does not guarantee an identical result.

01 · Togo / Room
Create ONE finished portrait 2:3 fashion interior illustration, no panels or text. Reference image ONLY for adult RURI's face identity and hand-painted 2D anime illustration style, NOT pose, outfit or furniture. Same delicate grey eyes, long black straight hair, straight bangs, thin braids, white cross hairpins, narrow softly sloping shoulders, natural adult anatomy. Beautiful detailed drawn lighting, fabrics and interior, NOT photorealistic, NOT 3D. Furniture must have credible real scale, coherent support and perspective. Full furniture silhouette visible. Warm quiet apartment with low rust orange Ligne Roset Togo sofa, deep quilted pleats, armless low foam wedge profile, no wooden feet. Ruri in oatmeal knit cardigan, plain charcoal tee, relaxed indigo jeans and ivory socks sits on left section reading a small book, knees together, feet planted on rug. Full sofa and full figure in a medium-wide view from room doorway. Soft side daylight, wood floor, simple olive plant, tranquil drawn atmosphere.
02 · Togo / Floor
Create ONE standalone portrait 2:3 finished 2D anime fashion illustration of adult RURI. NOT a collage. Preserve exact character identity: delicate grey eyes, straight black bangs, very long black hair with thin braids, white cross pins, narrow sloping shoulders, natural adult proportions, hand-drawn face and rich painterly environment. Reference1 establishes identity/style ONLY, reference2 furniture/outfit ONLY. CRITICAL: completely change pose, face angle and camera from references; do not replicate the upward-left three-quarter gaze, room layout or seated pose. Character's head must naturally connect to neck and torso, anatomically plausible hands and legs. No words/watermark. Furniture identifiable at real human scale. RURI sits ON THE RUG in front of low rust-orange pleated Togo sofa, her back and shoulder leaning lightly against front edge, legs naturally bent to one side, oatmeal cardigan, charcoal tee, indigo jeans, ivory socks. Head in clean RIGHT SIDE PROFILE, chin horizontal, looking toward window to right while holding an open small book in lap. Full figure plus recognizable entire sofa behind, camera low at rug height, restful pose. Plain warm wall, small floor lamp, no copied plants or shelves.

Keeping the scene, changing its surface

The photographic version began with an already completed 2D seated image. The generation record identifies it as the scene reference, with an earlier café portrait as the facial reference. One image supplied the pose and space; the other supplied the face.

The instructions were specific: retain the full-body framing, cheek resting on a hand, monochrome zebra cardigan, black trousers and loafers, red bag and chair, gallery and sunlight. Keep natural adult proportions, long black hair, fine braids, and white pins. The rendering was to change while the elements that made the scene legible remained.

The recorded feedback approved the photoreal face and asked that it be remembered. A saved identity-reference record then designated this result for direct reuse in later photographic work. It provides an anchor against gradual facial drift from repeatedly referencing only the previous generation.

Instructions and results do not match in every detail. The second 2D prompt requested a medium view and relaxed hands; the result is full-length, with a hand raised near the chin. The seated pose also differs from the request to place both feet side by side. We keep the prompt's intention separate from what can actually be seen.

Placing the photographic image at the end is a new editorial decision. After three illustrations, we wanted to revisit a familiar pose and palette on a different surface. That is our reading for this issue, not a statement attributed to the original maker.
